We are moving. In Two weeks.
I'm both ready and not ready. I'm dying to get to our new apartment (two bedrooms!) and thrilled that I will have less work, more space, and all before Baby Munchkin comes. Brock will have a shorter commute and will be home earlier as a result.
But I'm not packed yet!!!
Well, I'm almost packed actually. I've got a cool packing list that I've been working on for weeks and I'm ahead of schedule. I have (almost) enough boxes and my family is helping with Brady so he doesn't unpack everything before we get out of here.
Every now and then I sit back and realize that I'm packing, managing apartments, seven months pregnant, raising an almost-two-year-old, keeping this apartment in reasonable shape, finding food for my family every night, and getting ready to train a new manager for this property.
Breathe.
Funny thing is I'm doing all these things AND still finding time to sit and enjoying Baby Munchkin kicking my belly-button inside out. I still find time to play with BD, who has more energy than that famous drum-beating bunny. (On a side note, he came in rosy and very happy today after a playdate with his uncle and auntie - so cute!!!) I find time to write on my blogs and do a little recreational writing as well. I find time to have dinner with my husband now and then and remember how much I love him!
You'd think, with all this going on, I'd feel exhausted and drained all the time. But I only feel that way at bedtime. In fact, I feel good. The only side-effect I'm noticing is the tendency for the days to fly by WAY too fast. With such full minutes, hours, and days it seems like I blink and a month has gone by.
Do I want it to slow down? Not really. Only when I'm with Brock. Or watching BD do something particularly adorable. Like when he sleepily asks for "Choc-ate milk" with fabulous diction and large hopeful eyes.
This is kind of a rambling blog, but I'm in a venting mood and my Mother is in France this week and can't be my usual sympathetic listener. But it's okay. I'm done now and feel much better.
BD will be up soon and looks like a fax just came in from the office. Back to work...

Brady Loves the Beach
Just like his father.
The other day Brady and I were sitting out in our little yard staring at a gloomy, overcast sky, when a patch of blue sky opened up for a few minutes. Brady caught sight of it and pointed excitedly.
"Beach!" He demanded. "Beach!"
"No," I told him. "It's too cold to go to the beach."
"Beach!" He repeated stubbornly. When I still refused, he changed his tactics. "Daddy," he said urgently. "Daddy. Phone."
So, we called Daddy.
With Brock on the speaker phone, Brady pointed once again to the tiny patch of blue sky and demanded, "Beach!"
Brock laughed, and though he would usually have agreed with such a sentiment, he sided with me on this one.
"No, no, Buddy," he said. "Too cold for the beach. We'll go later."
Brady scowled at the phone and finally gave in, staring longingly at the now shrinking blue patch. He gave me back the phone and wandered off to play in his little toy house.
Little did he know that if Brock hadn't been stuck at work, he probably would have agreed to give the beach a try and I would have found myself bundled up on a freezing, rainy beach for the rest of the day.
Like father like son.
